Gillette-Schick Trial Centers on Prior Art Filings

Law360, New York (November 6, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- Judge Patti Saris heard arguments Thursday on whether Gillette filed the proper prior art when it submitted its patents, as the razor maker's lawsuit against rival Schick-Wilkinson Sword continued in U.S. District Court in Boston, Ma.

Attorneys also debated how the companies measured the razors to evaluate whether or not it infringed on the patent, newswires reported.

Gillette's lawsuit claims Schick's Quattro, a four-bladed razor, uses the same technique to stack the blades in the cartridge as Gillette's Mach3 three-bladed razor and otherwise violates Gillette patents....
