Wash. High Court Says AG Can Fight Health Care Reform

Law360, New York (September 1, 2011, 4:49 PM EDT) -- Washington state's highest court ruled Thursday that state Attorney General Robert McKenna was authorized to mount a challenge to the federal health care reform law on behalf of the state.

In March 2010, McKenna and 12 other state attorneys general filed a lawsuit in Florida federal court seeking an injunction against the enforcement of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act on the grounds that its individual health insurance mandate provision was unconstitutional.
