Chinese Exports Raise Safety Concerns

Law360 (June 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Poisons in dog food and lethal chemicals in toothpaste are just the tip of the iceberg, raising serious concerns about consumer safety from Chinese exports, experts say.

Imports of toothpaste with diethylene glycol have triggered a health alarm across North America, starting in Panama and leading to recalls in the United States this month. The latest scare follows the death of dozens of animals from imports of products containing melamine.
