US Asks CIT For Quick Win In Uggs Duty Dispute

Law360, New York (September 2, 2011, 7:49 PM EDT) -- The federal government on Friday asked the U.S. Court of International Trade to toss Deckers Outdoor Corp.'s lawsuit over duties imposed on Ugg boots, blasting Deckers' contention that customs officials misclassified the popular footwear line.

The government claims in a memorandum seeking summary judgment that Ugg boots are properly classified as slip-on footwear by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
