Simpson Thacher Reps Carlyle Group In $100M IPO

Law360, New York (September 6, 2011, 4:03 PM EDT) -- The Carlyle Group LP filed for an initial public offering Tuesday, following in the footsteps of the Blackstone Group LP and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. LP, other private equity giants who have dipped their toes into public markets.

The Washington-based Carlyle Group did not say how many shares it would offer or when they would go to market, but its registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission gave the offering a value of $100 million.
