India Vows To Revamp Patent Law By End Of Month

Law360, New York (December 8, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- India’s government has pledged to introduce legislation by the end of this month to completely revamp the country’s intellectual property regime and introduce product patents on drugs for the first time.

“Legislation on the Patent (Third) Amendment Bill will be introduced later this month,” Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath told a visiting Swiss delegation.
