Cadbury Pleads Guilty For Tainted Chocolates

Law360, New York (June 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Cadbury Schweppes PLC on Friday pled guilty in a United Kingdom court to marketing salmonella-contaminated chocolate last year over a three-month period that ended when it was forced to recall close to a million candy bars.

The popular British chocolate maker could face unlimited fines and up to two years in jail for each of the three counts the company admitted it was liable for in the incident, which led to more than 30 illnesses.
