Obama Makes Judicial Picks For 4th Circ., Texas

Law360, New York (September 9, 2011, 7:58 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama on Thursday named a partner at Charleston, W.Va., firm Allen Guthrie & Thomas PLLC to sit on the Fourth Circuit and a prosecutor to become a Texas federal court judge.

For the appeals court, Obama tapped Stephanie Dawn Thacker, an attorney focused on complex litigation, environmental and toxic tort litigation, and criminal defense.

The president also on Thursday named Gregg Jeffrey Costa to serve on the federal bench in the Southern District of Texas, where he currently serves as an assistant U.S. attorney....
