Honda Mulls Lawsuits Against 9 More Chinese Car Makers Over Design Rights

Law360, New York (December 9, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Japan’s Honda Motor Co. has filed lawsuits against two Chinese automakers over design rights and is planning to take legal action against nine more.

The Japanese automaker claims that its Chinese rivals copied the exterior design of the Honda CR-V sport utility vehicle, Nikkei News reported.

Honda filed suit against Shijiazhuang Shuanghuan Automobile Co. in the Beijing High People's Court in autumn 2003, asserting that the Chinese automaker's S-RV looked exactly like the CR-V.
