America Invents Act Is 'Worthless': Congresswoman

Law360, Washington (September 13, 2011, 3:58 PM EDT) -- The America Invents Act recently passed by Congress is "worthless," and further intellectual property reform legislation focused on copyright infringement that is currently making its way through the chambers also needs more work, Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., said Tuesday.

Lofgren sharply criticized the recently passed patent reform bill, which President Barack Obama has yet to sign into law.

“The puny patent bill we passed is worthless,” she said. “I see that as our failure as a Congress.”
