DOJ Defends 5-Year Fraud Sentence for CSK Auto Exec

Law360, New York (September 14, 2011, 6:59 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice on Tuesday urged an Arizona federal judge to ignore a former CSK Auto Corp. executive's bid for a shorter sentence, claiming he greatly mischaracterized his role in a securities fraud scheme that spanned five years.

Former CSK Chief Financial Officer Don W. Watson, who pled guilty to fraud charges in April 2009, asked the court last week to give him a sentence of probation for reasons ranging from an ignorance of accounting standards to lack of personal gain from the fraud....
