Asbestos Researcher Says Hawkins Parnell Owes $1.2M

Law360, New York (September 15, 2011, 8:56 PM EDT) -- Hawkins Parnell Thackston & Young LLP on Thursday removed a suit alleging failure to pay consultant RJ Lee Group Inc. for $1.2 million in asbestos research to Pennsylvania federal court, citing diversity of citizenship.

Laboratory research consultant RJ Lee sued Georgia-based Hawkins Parnell and New York industrial talc manufacturer RT Vanderbilt Co. Inc. in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, Pa., in August, alleging failure to pay for research conducted in 2007 that helped defend RT Vanderbilt against hundreds of asbestos-related claims.
