8th Circ. Won't Order New Trial For Agriprocessors Exec

Law360, New York (September 16, 2011, 3:46 PM EDT) -- The Eighth Circuit on Friday upheld the denial of a new trial for Sholom Rubashkin, the former Agriprocessors Inc. CEO convicted of 86 counts of financial fraud in the aftermath of a sweeping immigration raid on an Iowa kosher slaughterhouse.

Rubashkin had asked for a new trial with a different judge in August 2010, saying Chief U.S. District Judge Linda R. Reade had worked with prosecutors to plan the raid and therefore could not be impartial.
