Louis Vuitton Wants ITC To Reopen Handbag Import Probe

Law360, Los Angeles (September 16, 2011, 8:00 PM EDT) -- Louis Vuitton Malletier SA and its California-based subsidiary on Thursday urged the U.S. International Trade Commission to reopen a trademark investigation that was terminated by the commission after Louis Vuitton failed to file a motion on time.

Louis Vuitton blamed the late filing of its 1,000-page motion for summary determination on two copying errors made by a third-party vendor that delayed the filing and resulted in the document being submitted to the court seconds after an Aug. 16 deadline had passed, according to a petition for...
