Australia To Probe Asian Steel Dumping

Law360, Los Angeles (September 19, 2011, 4:54 PM EDT) -- Australia's Customs & Border Protection Service on announced Monday it had launched an inquiry into structural steel imports from five Asian countries following a dumping complaint by domestic steel maker OneSteel Ltd.

Customs will examine dumping and subsidization of certain hollow structural sections being imported from China, South Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand, according to a public notice. OneSteel claimed in its complaint lodged last month that Asian exports have been sold domestically at artificially low prices.
