E&Y Taps Mayer Brown Litigation Partner As New GC

Law360, New York (September 20, 2011, 5:14 PM EDT) -- Ernst & Young LLP has tapped a Mayer Brown LLP commercial litigation partner to be its new global general counsel based in London, the auditing firm said Tuesday.

Clare Canning, who will start in October, will replace outgoing general counsel Trevor Faure, who was named global leader of Ernst & Young's legal services sector.

At Mayer Brown, Canning's practice focused on financial services, professional negligence and reinsurance. Before joining Mayer Brown, Canning was head of commercial litigation at international firm Barlow Lyde & Gilbert LLP....
