Penta Deal Caps Off $5M Contaminated Bottle Dispute

Law360, New York (September 22, 2011, 6:57 PM EDT) -- Penta Water Co. Inc. on Wednesday settled its more than $5 million lawsuit claiming MPI Packaging Inc. supplied contaminated bottles that cost the high-end bottled water seller both customers and the launch of a new product design.

According to the complaint filed in Pennsylvania federal court, a chemical reaction occurred when MPI's bottles came into contact with Penta's "ultra-purified" water, causing foaming and a poor taste that customers began complaining about a few months after the water company made the switch to MPI's bottles.
