FTC Asks Omnicare For More Info On PharMerica Bid

Law360, New York (September 23, 2011, 4:00 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission has asked Omnicare Inc. for more information on its hostile bid to acquire fellow pharmaceutical provider PharMerica Corp. for $440.8 million, Omnicare said Friday.

Omnicare said it would comply with the FTC's second request under federal antitrust law right away, calling the agency's bid for additional information "a routine aspect of the regulatory process."

Covington, Ky.-based Omnicare took its bid for PharMerica hostile on Sept. 7, after its executives rejected the offer of $15 per share. Omnicare also filed suit in Delaware...
