Dog Food Co. Seeks $10M In Bayer GM Rice Suit

Law360, New York (September 26, 2011, 6:08 PM EDT) -- Bayer AG on Monday removed from state court to Missouri federal court a negligence suit brought by The Nutro Co. claiming that Bayer contaminated Nutro's pet food with genetically modified rice and cost the company $10 million.

The move comes a few months after Bayer agreed to pay $750 million to farmers whose crops were allegedly contaminated by the rice, taking away their ability to export to the European Union, which has strict regulations on genetically modified food.
