HoneyBaked, Insurer Settle Tainted Meat Coverage Suit

Law360, New York (September 27, 2011, 1:12 PM EDT) -- HoneyBaked Foods Inc. has settled an Ohio lawsuit in which it sought $8 million from Affiliated FM Insurance Co. for losses it suffered after federal inspectors found disease-causing bacteria in its meat, according to a court order filed Monday.

U.S. District Judge James G. Carr noted in his order that HoneyBaked and Affiliated had settled and that he would dismiss the 3-year-old suit by Oct. 30. Affiliated and HoneyBaked did not disclose the terms of the settlement.
