High Court To Weigh Immunity For US Outside Counsel

Law360, New York (September 27, 2011, 5:49 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday agreed to take up the question of whether or not private lawyers hired by governments are entitled to the same immunity afforded to government workers.

Petitioner Steve Filarsky said in his February petition for a writ of certiorari there is an unresolved split amongst the appeals courts. The Sixth Circuit ruled in Cullinan v.
