Clothes Importers Fight 'Discriminatory' Tariff Rates

Law360, New York (September 30, 2011, 4:05 PM EDT) -- Clothing importers Skiz Imports LLC and Forever 21 Inc. on Tuesday asked the U.S. Court of International Trade to reject the government's motion to dismiss the companies' suit alleging that tariff rates discriminate against articles of clothing depending on the gender and age group for which they're intended.

Skiz and Forever 21 fought the government's argument that the clothing importers had failed to demonstrate any reason why the government would discriminate against products intended for any given group, saying that such occurrences were common.
