Del Monte Drops Lawsuit After FDA Ends Melon Ban

Law360, New York (September 29, 2011, 7:14 PM EDT) -- Del Monte Fresh Produce NA Inc. on Tuesday dismissed its lawsuit in Maryland against the U.S. Food and Drug Administration after the FDA dropped a ban on cantaloupes imported by Del Monte from a farm in Guatemala.

Del Monte filed a notice of dismissal saying that the FDA's import alert, which the company sought to nix, had been lifted.
