Agilent Sues Another Rival Over Optical Mouse Patents

Law360 (December 21, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Computer peripheral maker Agilent Technologies Inc. has sued Taiwanese rival Elan Microelectronics Corp. for infringing patents for optical mouse sensor technology.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, alleges that Elan infringes Agilent's U.S. Patent No. 5,786,804 and U.S. Patent No. 6,433,780.

The complaint seeks an injunction to stop Elan from selling optical mouse sensors to companies manufacturing optical mice that are imported, distributed or sold in the U.S.
