Bunzl May Get New Trial In Knife Patent Row: Fed. Circ.

Law360, New York (October 3, 2011, 7:29 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit on Monday ordered an Ohio federal court to consider whether Bunzl Processor Distribution LLC deserved a new trial in its attempt to prove the invalidity of a Bettcher Industries Inc. patent covering rotary knives.

Bettcher sued Bunzl in 2008, claiming the replacement blades that Bunzl sold for Bettcher's products wore into a shape that infringed Bettcher's patent for a rotary knife blade, and Bunzl countered that the patent was invalid.
