White House Pushes To Keep Lobbyists Out Of Gov't Jobs

Law360, New York (October 5, 2011, 8:24 PM EDT) -- The White House Office of Management and Budget on Wednesday announced the final details of an Obama administration reform effort to keep registered lobbyists out of positions in federal government.

The OMB's final guidance, which will go into effect Nov. 4, instructs executive departments not to appoint federally registered lobbyists to advisory committees and other boards. The office announced preliminary guidelines last November and opened them to public comment.
