An Eye On Post-Import Adjustments To Transfer Prices

Law360, New York (October 6, 2011, 6:40 PM EDT) -- On Sept. 23, 2011, in a posting to its website, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) invited advance public comment on a rule change that would make key changes in the treatment of transfer prices for customs purposes.

These potential changes could affect the declared value of imported goods (and, consequently, the import duties/fees paid on those goods) for companies with significant related party sales that are priced according to a transfer pricing formula.
