CBP Head Calls For More Cooperation With Canada, Mexico

Law360, New York (October 6, 2011, 8:16 PM EDT) -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Alan Bersin said Thursday that one of the keys to effective enforcement of the nation's borders is increased collaboration with Canada and Mexico to ensure the security of the entire North American continent.

In a lecture at Brooklyn Law School in New York, Bersin hailed President Barack Obama's recent agreements with the leaders of Mexico and Canada to work toward that goal, including increased information sharing and cooperation with America's neighbors on issues like cargo inspection.
