Cyber Dispute Resolution Could Slash Legal Costs: Attys

Law360, New York (December 7, 2011, 5:29 PM EST) -- A General Electric Co. unit's recent move to arbitrate simple commercial disputes online signals burgeoning support in the legal world to move certain battles to cyberspace to slash legal costs, experts say.

GE Oil & Gas is testing an online process in Italy to resolve supplier disputes involving $65,000 or less, in a move to save both the money and the time GE spends on lawyers, The Wall Street Journal reported in October.
