Food Industry Slams Bid To Limit Ads Targeting Kids

Law360, New York (October 12, 2011, 5:03 PM EDT) -- Lawmakers and food industry representatives on Wednesday attacked a proposal to ask manufacturers to voluntarily stop marketing unhealthy foods to children, despite a Federal Trade Commission official's assurances that the agency would consider exempting advertising aimed at teenagers.

Two subcommittees of the House Energy and Commerce Committee heard the testimony at a joint hearing on Capitol Hill.
