Samsung, LG Sue Taiwanese Notebook Makers In U.S.

Law360, New York (January 2, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- South Korean electronics makers Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics have appealed a U.S. patent infringement lawsuit against several Taiwanese notebook makers, following the dismissal of the lawsuit by a lower court.

Samsung Electronics said on December 28 that it had entered legal actions against major PC makers of Taiwan over fraudulent use of a part of its patented technologies related to notebook PCs. The company said it anticipates that a judicial decision will be made early next year at the earliest.
