Family Dollar Officers Cough Up Options In Settlement

Law360, New York (June 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Four officers of Family Dollar Stores Inc. have agreed to forgo more than 200,000 stock options as part of a settlement in several shareholder lawsuits brought over the discount retailer's alleged improper stock option backdating.

The settlement, which still needs to win court approval, ends several federal and state actions brought against the company for activities dating back to 1995, according to court documents filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina on Friday.
