Hill Panel Eyes Tweaks To Dodd-Frank Derivatives Regs

Law360, New York (October 14, 2011, 5:27 PM EDT) -- A panel of business leaders told a U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee Friday that proposed legislation regarding the $600 trillion over-the-counter derivatives market requires changes to clarify potentially devastating uncertainties in its current language.

The House Committee on Financial Services Subcommittee on Capital Markets and Government-Sponsored Enterprises held the hearing, called "Legislative Proposals to Bring Certainty to the Over-the-Counter Derivatives Market," for advisement on four bills intended to clarify several controversial aspects of Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act....
