Watts Water Puts End To FCPA Probe For $4M

Law360, New York (October 14, 2011, 5:49 PM EDT) -- Watts Water Technologies Inc. on Thursday agreed to pay $3.8 million to settle a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission investigation over allegations that it made improper payments to employees of state-owned design institutes in China, in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

The company said in a regulatory filing that the settlement with the SEC resolved all government investigations into potential violations of the FCPA at Watts Valve Changsha Co. Ltd., its former Chinese subsidiary that produced and supplied large valve products for infrastructure projects...
