House GOP Wants Supercommittee To Curtail Dodd-Frank

Law360, New York (October 14, 2011, 7:15 PM EDT) -- Republicans on the House Financial Services Committee on Friday said the congressional supercommittee should consider rolling back some aspects of last year's sweeping financial reform law in a bid to boost the sputtering economy.

In a letter to Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., and Rep. Jeb Henserling, R-Texas, the supercommittee's co-chairmen, House Financial Services Committee Chairman Spencer Bachus said curtailing some of the Dodd-Frank Act's regulations would serve to spur lending from financial institutions and increase hiring throughout the economy.
