House Committee Releases DOE Solyndra Loan Memo

Law360, New York (October 14, 2011, 8:01 PM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives' Energy and Commerce Committee on Friday released a Department of Energy memo showing the government's reason for restructuring bankrupt solar company Solyndra LLC's $535 million federal loan.

At a committee hearing, House Democrats questioned why Republicans, who allege that the DOE violated the Energy Policy Act when it restructured the loan, released emails last week to support their argument but failed to introduce two versions of the DOE's memo that allegedly explained the department's rationale.
