Security Giant G4S To Buy Rival From Goldman For $8.2B

Law360, New York (October 17, 2011, 1:38 PM EDT) -- British security giant G4S PLC on Monday said it had struck a deal to buy its larger Danish rival, ISS A/S, from EQT Partners and Goldman Sachs Capital Partners for roughly £5.2 billion ($8.2 billion) in cash, stock and debt.

G4S said it would assume about £3.7 billion in debt and issue a £2 billion rights offer to pay for the purchase. News of the acquisition drove G4S' stock price down more than 22 percent, or 63.8 pence, in Monday afternoon trading.
