Intel Tries To Trim NY AG's Antitrust Claims

Law360, Wilmington (October 27, 2011, 9:09 PM EDT) -- Intel Corp. on Thursday told a Delaware federal court to slash an antitrust suit brought by New York’s attorney general, saying the state is barred by statute from bringing certain claims on behalf of consumers and local government entities.

Filed in 2009 by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s predecessor, the suit accuses Intel of offering excessive rebates and discounts to large computer makers that use its microprocessors, which allegedly weakened competitor Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and then allowed the chip giant to jack the prices...
