Johnston Barton Faces Another Sex Bias Suit

Law360, New York (October 17, 2011, 6:06 PM EDT) -- Johnston Barton Proctor & Rose LLP, a 50-lawyer firm based in Birmingham, Ala., was hit with a sex discrimination suit Monday by a female former attorney, the second such suit against the firm this year.

The complaint, by former counsel Gina Pearson, follows a suit filed in June by former nonequity partner Shayana Boyd Davis.

Pearson claims that the firm retaliated against her and demanded her resignation in part because she supported Davis' discrimination claims and agreed to testify on her behalf.
