Cassels Brock Aids New Gold In $129M Silver Quest Deal

Law360, New York (October 18, 2011, 7:04 PM EDT) -- Gold mining company New Gold Inc. said Monday that it would spend about CA$131 million (US$129 million) in an all-stock transaction to buy exploration company Silver Quest Resources Ltd., a deal that will expand New Gold's stake in gold in Canada's British Columbia.

The transaction will give Toronto-based New Gold control of Silver Quest's rights to several gold plays in British Columbia, the company said. New Gold has interests in mines in the U.S., Australia, Mexico, Chile and Canada. Both companies' boards have given their go-ahead...
