'Company Doe' Tries To Block Online Consumer Complaint

Law360, New York (October 18, 2011, 7:42 PM EDT) -- An anonymous company reportedly asked a Maryland federal judge on Monday to prevent the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission from listing a complaint about one of the company's products in its new public database.

The Associated Press reports that the company, under the name “Company Doe,” claims that the consumer complaint — which involves an injury to a child — is not based on any factual evidence. It is apparently the first legal challenge to the commission's database, which went online in March.
