US Wants Details On China's Internet Restrictions

Law360, New York (October 19, 2011, 3:01 PM EDT) -- The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative announced Wednesday it had submitted a request for information to China under World Trade Organization rules, seeking details on the trade impact of Chinese policies that may block U.S. companies’ websites in China.

According to the USTR, the request asks China to furnish details that will allow a fuller understanding of the legal and policy rules relevant to the accessibility of commercial websites in China.
