Law360, New York (October 21, 2011, 6:45 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge on Thursday sanctioned an attorney representing plaintiff Cunningham's Memphis Gourmet Sauce for filing ostensibly unopposed motions for extension of time without consulting the defendants in a suit accusing two food distributors of antitrust violations.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Joel B. Toomey imposed a $250 sanction on Randall V. Shanafelt of the Shanafelt Law Firm PA, saying the attorney failed to contact attorneys for Seidman Hudon Food Brokerage Inc. and Tree of Life before filing supposedly unopposed motions for extension of time to respond...
