Entergy Must Repay Overcharged Customers: FERC

Law360, New York (October 21, 2011, 5:59 PM EDT) -- Federal energy regulators on Thursday ordered Entergy Corp. to pay Louisiana electricity customers who were overcharged for production costs compared with customers in neighboring states, an amount state utility regulators say could approach $200 million.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission said the payments cover the reallocation of production costs from June 1, 2005, when the regulator found that Louisiana's share was unjust and unreasonable, to Dec. 31, 2005, the day before it implemented a more equitable formula of allocating production costs.
