Zurich Accuses Title Insurer Of Hiding Probe Into VP

Law360, New York (October 24, 2011, 2:41 PM EDT) -- Zurich American Insurance Co. sued Expedient Title Inc. on Friday to avoid covering a $6 million contract dispute, alleging Expedient neglected to disclose an investigation into one of its executives that led to the suspension of his law license.

If Zurich had known about the probe, as well as a notice that Expedient received alerting that the $6 million contract suit might be filed, the insurer would have refused to issue a policy, charged a higher premium or included different exclusions, Zurich's suit said.
