Traders Settle CFTC Charges Over Gas Price Index

Law360, New York (June 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two traders have agreed to a combined $125,000 fine to settle charges by federal regulators that they deceived commodity indexes in an attempt to manipulate the price of natural gas.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced the settlement Wednesday, bringing an end to the lawsuit accusing Oklahoma-based traders Jeffrey Bradley and Robert Martin of making false reports to compilers of daily and monthly gas indexes.
