Danisco Fails To Prove Novozymes Ethanol IP Invalid

Law360, New York (October 26, 2011, 5:47 PM EDT) -- A Wisconsin federal jury on Tuesday ruled that biotechnology company Danisco AS had failed to prove a patent invalid in an infringement suit brought by rival Novozymes AS over a variant of the enzyme alpha amylase, which is used to make ethanol.

The jury also ruled that Novozymes failed to prove patent infringement relating to a group of Danisco’s so-called whole broth products, in the dispute over U.S. Patent Number 7,713,723, the verdict said.
