IMS Health Sheds SDI Assets To Resolve Antitrust Concerns

Law360, New York (October 28, 2011, 7:39 PM EDT) -- Health care market research firm IMS Health Inc. has agreed to divest the audit business of SDI Health LLC in order to be able to acquire the rival company and settle competition concerns, the Federal Trade Commission said Friday.

The settlement ends FTC allegations that the acquisition as it was originally designed would likely lead to an increase in the price of market research for companies in the health care industry, the FTC said.
