Obama Orders FDA Crackdown On Drug Shortages, Gouging

Law360, New York (October 31, 2011, 4:34 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama on Monday ordered federal regulators to crack down on drug shortages and speed up reviews to prevent them — and to investigate whether shortages have spurred suppliers to stockpile or charge excessive prices for life-saving medicines.
