Suprema Biometric Scanners Infringed Patents: ITC

Law360, New York (October 31, 2011, 5:14 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission last week affirmed a ruling that Suprema Inc. had infringed two patents for biometric scanning devices held by Cross Match Technologies Inc., and banned Suprema's products from being imported to the U.S.

In an Oct. 24 decision ending the investigation, the full ITC backed Chief Administrative Law Judge Paul J. Luckern's June finding that South Korea-based Suprema and Texas-based Mentalix Inc., which distributes Suprema's products, infringed Cross Match's patents.
